What are the types, uses and production processes of self-sealing bags?

2022-11-24

With the improvement of living standards, self-sealing bags can be seen everywhere in daily life, including various clothing self-sealing bags, electronic packaging self-sealing bags, industrial product packaging self-sealing bags, aluminum foil packaging self-sealing bags and other diverse types. A good self-sealing bag is also produced through production procedures and in accordance with strict standards. Since there are so many self-sealing bags in daily life, do we know their types, uses and production processes? Next, the editor of Zhitu will take you to learn about the self-sealing bags in our lives!

I. Types of Self-Sealing Bags

Self-sealing bag refers to a packaging bag that can be automatically sealed by pressing, and common types include zipper self-sealing bags, blow-molded bone (concave-convex bone) self-sealing bags, etc.

Ziplock self-sealing bags (also known as squeeze-top bags, slider bags, sealable bags, zipper bags, and zipper closure bags; English: Ziplock bags, Reclosable Bag, Zipper Closure Bag, Resealable Bag) are reusable sealable plastic bags made by blow film molding and heat-sealing production of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). Common materials include PE, EVA, PO, and multi-layer composite zipper bags.

II. Uses of Self-Sealing Bags

Self-sealing bags can be used for the inner and outer packaging of various small items (ornaments, hardware, toys). Self-sealing bags produced with food-grade raw materials can store various snacks, tea, seafood, etc., with moisture-proof, odor-proof, waterproof, insect-proof functions and to prevent items from scattering; self-sealing bags can also be used for the packaging of clothing and other daily necessities, with a wide range of uses. Anti-static self-sealing bags can be produced by adding anti-static masterbatch during the film blowing production of self-sealing bags, which are generally used in the electronic industry.

III. Production Process of Self-sealing Bags

The production of zipper self-sealing bags is divided into two methods. One is direct film blowing and forming: the self-sealing part is generally 1.8 cm above, with a relatively thick thickness near the self-sealing part, and the left and right sides of the self-sealing bag are made into finished products by hot cutting and sealing. The other method is to attach the zipper strip afterward, which is mainly used for the production of composite bags.

The production of self-adhesive self-sealing bags mainly involves cross-cutting a single piece of film and heat-sealing both sides. The front and back lengths of the bag are inconsistent; one side is 3-5 cm longer than the other, forming a fold-back part. Adhesives such as self-adhesive stickers and destructive adhesives are attached to the fold-back part. When in use, tear off the plastic cover sheet on the adhesive and fold it back to seal the bag.
